Prepping With Pressure

Pressure washing is really the first important step in prepping the exterior of a home for painting.  Obviously, washing knocks away dirt and grime and removes mold and mildew when using a mildewcide.

However, presure washing is an excellent way of removing peeling and flaking paint along with cobwebs and wasp nest.  Washing may save you quite a bit of labor when time comes to begin scraping too.

If you do not want to hire someone to pressure wash your home, then certainly rental is the answer, and operation is very simple.  You do need to be very careful when using the washer though.  Should you get too close to wooden siding or trim and windows, you may cause some damage that will need to be repaired.

I believe that pressure washing your home before anything else is done is really something that you should do.  In the end it will enable your paint to bond better, and you will have a sleeker looking finish.  Remember, it will aid in removing flaking and peeling paint giving you more time painting and not scraping.
